This attractive U.S.-market Testarossa was completed during the
penultimate year
of the original Tipo F110 Testarossa (1984-1991). As such, it
benefits from
nearly all of the mechanical improvements introduced over the
Testarossa's
lifetime-most significantly, the introduction of five-bolt, 16-inch
wheels in
mid-1988, making modern tire sourcing significantly easier. Chassis
83213 was
originally finished in the uncommon and striking livery it wears
today,
consisting of Nero (Black) paintwork over Rosso (Red) leather with
Nero carpets.
The original service and warranty book records that the car was
initially
delivered to Autohaus, Inc. in Cohasset, Massachusetts. A Mr.
Dwayne A. Richards
of Seattle, Washington, is noted as the Ferrari's original owner,
with the
warranty commencing on 12 December 1989. According to its clean
CARFAX Vehicle
History Report, the TR was first registered in Washington in May
1990. By 2005
it surfaced for sale in Fort Worth, Texas, advertised as a
one-owner example
showing just 3,567 miles at the time. It subsequently passed
between dealers in
Washington and California before entering private ownership with
Andrew Calhoun
of South Carolina. Calhoun would retain chassis 83213 until 2015.
Later that
year it was documented in the care of Ferrari Los Angeles showing
only 5,998
miles, with a new Southern California-based owner. Acquired by the
consignor
earlier this year, the Testarossa received a recent service in the
fall of 2025
performed by DriverSource of Houston, Texas, including an oil
change and
thorough detailing. Today, the black Testarossa indicates a mere
6,466 miles
from new and appears to have always been treated as a cherished
collector's
piece.
Beautifully preserved, the Nero coachwork retains a fine luster,
while inside
the predominantly Rosso leather interior maintains fine condition
throughout,
with the adjustable bucket seats showing only minor age-related
creases. The
iconic three-spoke MOMO steering wheel with its yellow horn button
remains in
excellent condition. The quintessentially-1980s Veglia Borletti
instrumentation
features four main dials with black faces and orange numerals,
while center
console gauges complete the purposeful driver-focused layout.
Throughout the
cabin, the overall condition reflects the respect this Testarossa
has commanded
from its caretakers. Furthermore, the car is accompanied by its
owner's manuals,
original service and warranty book, a selection of tools, and a
jack.
The Tipo F110 Testarossa remains one of the most coveted and widely
recognizable
models of the marque for its era-defining styling and its glorious
flat-twelve's
performance. With its uncommon livery and low mileage, chassis
83213 is a
standout example of this Prancing Horse.
