"A car so handsome, so roomy, and so comfortable that it is bound
to make the practical coach model even more popular. Smart
incidentals include back window curtain, dome light with pillar
switch, adjustable sun deflector, assist strap and arm rests in
rear seat, new button door locks. New comfort features include
front door ventilators and new bucket-type front seats. Your choice
of rich mohair or Bedford cord upholstery." From the period's
Chevrolet brochure, highlighting the Master Six Coach.
For consignment, a 1934 Chevrolet Master two door sedan showing
11,352 miles, but the true miles are unknown. There is not much
left on this car that resembles the one portrayed in the period
Chevrolet sales brochure as it now presents as a wild street rod in
colors and configuration that would have rocked the world in
1934!
Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed
branding on the title
Exterior
Flame Red lights this car up like a fire engine, augmented by bold
bright graphic stripes on the side in yellow, orange, and white.
Smooth side panels and doors mix with a rounded roofline and
arching fenders to create a dramatic profile which hunkers down
over staggered diameter American Racing Outlaw I wheels wrapped in
staggered size tires as well. This provides a subtle rake to the
car, lifting the slab back panel just a hair, allowing two exhaust
tips to protrude with plenty of room as the diminutive tail lights
almost disappear in the extending fenders. Up front, the smoothed
grille surround, mesh style grille, and darkened headlights make
quite the statement while billet style side mirrors flank the
narrow windshield. One single spot of some uneven filler under the
paint is the only imperfection we find on the exterior.
Interior
The mohair and broadcloth are long gone and in its place is a
velour like gray cloth that covers the doors and accented by the
material in different colored stripes. The patterns and materials
repeat on the front bucket seats and the rear bench for two, with
complementing sidewall, all well coordinated and clean. Up front, a
leather clad steering wheel on a tilt column fronts a clean, white
painted dash with center instrument cluster on a billet faceplate.
VDO vintage style gauges are on board along with a Vintage Air unit
on the textured lower dash. A billet handled shifter rises from the
floor, dressed by a machined metal base plate over black carpet.
Overhead, the gray headliner meets the AM/FM/CD radio and back up
camera monitor.
Drivetrain
Lots of polished parts and braided steel hoses dress up the 350ci
crate V8 that's up front and visible to the world. It has an
Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and is backed by a TH350 3-speed
automatic that routes power to a Ford 8" in back.
Undercarriage
It's show and shine underneath with super clean conditions and
bright, stainless steel dual exhaust that runs from headers through
glasspack style muffler and finally out back via chrome tips. The
car has a Mustang II front end and leaf spring in the back and
brakes are split between discs and drums, front and back
respectively.
Drive-Ability
The trusty 350 starts right up after we pump the gas once or twice
and the exhaust note is one we could live with every day! The
comfortable gray cabin provides a pleasant perch from which to
operate this red sedan and it demonstrates good power, straight
tracking, and very nice handling. The windows are narrow and
although look like a chop, '33 and '34 Chevy's came this way and
it's not difficult to adapt to this different perspective of the
road, or in our case, the test loop. All functional items on this
car operated as they should and we returned this beauty to the
mall's showroom. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these
functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot
guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your
purchase.
If you're looking for a clean street rod, and one with A/C and a
radio, look no further than this stunning '34. Take the kids or
grandkids along with the ride and they'll get a big kick from all
the thumbs ups you'll be getting. They'll probably want to feature
your car on their TikTok or Snapchat. Let them and your car be
internet famous! It won't take long for it to gain local notoriety
with its good looks and strong running V8.
