Cruisin Classics is pleased to present this exceptionally
well-optioned 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible.
Originally born with Lime Green Poly paint (43), this Cutlass comes
to us today dressed in a good driver quality coat of bright red
paint that looks fantastic paired with the white convertible top
(A) and Ivory interior (987). Up front, there are dual horizontal
grilles with bright trim flanked by dual side-by-side round
headlights in square chrome bezels. A gleaming chrome bumper with
integrated round turn signal lights lies beneath. As you move to
the side, more brightwork and chrome come into view with windshield
trim, rear hood molding, driver's side mirror, handles, wheel lip
molding, fender badging, lower body side molding, and door edge
guards. Hideaway wipers keep the look clean and uncluttered. White
pinstripes ride along the swooping upper body line and make their
way to the rear, drawing attention to the white top. The power
convertible top is stain-free, looks like new, has a glass rear
window, and operates quickly and smoothly as it should. Adding a
perfect complement to the side view are a set of black & chrome
alloy factory wheels all wrapped in BF Goodrich white letter Radial
T/A's. In the rear is a chrome bumper with integrated taillights
and a set of exhaust tips peeking out underneath.
Under the hood is a very clean and organized black engine bay with
a Rocket 350 V-8 dressed in Olds-Gold paint at the center. Adding
to the gold look are the water pump, intake, and valve covers. A
4-barrel carburetor sits on top and is capped with a black air
cleaner that sports a "Oldsmobile Rocket 350" decal. Other
highlights include a working factory A/C system, power steering,
and power brakes (drums) with a newer-looking master cylinder. The
V-8 is mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts
smoothly as it sends power to the rear wheels via a 10-bolt rear.
Exhaust flows through cast manifolds, newer pipes, and newer
mufflers before exiting the rear with a pleasing burble.
Open the door, and the courtesy lights come on to illuminate an
Ivory and black interior with classy woodgrain accents. The door
panels are a mix of Ivory vinyl, woodgrain trim, chrome accents,
and black carpet with armrests, pull straps, power window controls,
and a driver's mirror toggle. A bright Fisher Body sill plate
welcomes you in for a seat on the comfortable Ivory vinyl bench
with a fold-down armrest and working power controls. Both front and
rear seats are in excellent condition and offer black seatbelts.
Underfoot is high-quality black carpet in good condition. While
checking out the carpet, you'll notice the aftermarket black kick
panels up front that house new round speakers. Ahead of the driver
is a black 2-spoke OEM steering wheel with woodgrain accents on a
tilt column with a column shifter. The black dash is crack-free and
features woodgrain panels that accent the gauges and accessories.
Framed by the wheel are a fuel gauge with warning lights for brake,
gen, oil, and temp, a 120mph speedometer, and a non-working clock.
The odometer reads 77,415, and the title says those are actual
miles. Beneath are controls for the working 2-speed wipers, power
top controls, and HVAC controls that offer cold A/C and hot heat
with a working fan. In the center of the dash is an original
Oldsmobile AM pushbutton radio that powers up but does not produce
any sound. Above that is a flip-up door ashtray with a kill switch
mounted inside. Ahead of the passenger is a glovebox that contains
a couple of welcome surprises - a push-button trunk release and an
original owner's portfolio that includes an owner's manual,
warranty, and Protect-O-Plate in an original bag. Back in the trunk
is a felt mat, a set of black rubber floormats, a bias-ply spare
with jack, a framed car show-ready poster, a '71 Cutlass
advertising poster, a Fisher folding top service manual, and both a
brand new and an original white boot cover for the convertible
top.
Whether you're looking specifically for a Cutlass or just a cool
drop-top classic, you're going to want to check out this '71! It's
loaded with working factory options (some rather rare), the color
combo is awesome, and it cruises down the road like it's still
1971! We know how popular these Cutlass Supremes are these days, so
we don't expect this beauty to be here for long - give us a call
today!
