BUILD SHOP DETAILS:
The car was professionally built in Huntington Beach California by legendary Chuck Lombardo and his team at California Street Rods. Charles "Chuck" A. Lombardo Sr., the longtime street-rod industry icon and former Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Board Member, has passed away. He was 80.

Lombardo's passion was all about cars, primarily classic and street rods. Since the '60s, Lombardo has owned and operated California Street Rods Corporation, where he built high-quality cars for notable customers like the ZZ TOP rock group and TV personality Jay Leno. Lombardo also founded and served as president for Back to the 50s Inc., a local car show and production based in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

When he was the owner of California Street Rods in Huntington Beach, California, he co-founded the Street Machine Manufacturers Association (SMMA). SMMA merged in 1992 with the Street Rod Industry Alliance (a SEMA committee at the time) to form SRMA, the Street Rod Marketing Alliance (now known as the Hot Rod Industry Alliance). He served as both committee chair and as chair when SRMA became a SEMA council in 1994. Lombardo also notably served on the SEMA 2005-2006 Board of Directors. Lombardo was inducted into the Street Rods Hall of Fame and was named "Industry Man of the Year" by the National Street Rod Association.

Outstanding Show Quality high gloss show base coat clear coat finish. The Flames and Pin Striping were done by Legendary Dennis Ricklefs. When it comes to building high end hot rods and customs, the shop that builds them, are usually the ones that get all the attention. Sometimes the painter and interior guy get some love, but there are often some really important contributions that come from folks who don't get much attention. We're talking about the folks that detail the wheels, polish the paint, chrome or polish parts, and sometimes the guy or gal that does the pinstriping or graphics on the car. But whether they get any public credit or not, make no mistake that their contributions can make or break a car that is going after awards like America's Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) or the prestigious Ridler award. Dennis has performed his artistry to 14 AMBR cars and some Ridler cars as well.

This car could not be duplicated at a fraction of the asking price. It would take years just to get into a "reputable" shop to start the process as the really good builders have a wait list. Then it will take a year or more to build a car like this at this high level. This one has been driven 7,856 miles since its build has been completed. This car is very road worthy and driver friendly. Just pull into ANY show and take home the trophies!
