--Silver over Black leather, Black carpeting, V8 powered Chevrolet
Engine, 4-Speed manual gearbox, Restored and a very rare find. From
a company that brought us the tiny Isetta bubble car, it seems
hardly likely that one of their other creations would be a V8
powered GT car. The Rivolta was presented to the public for the
first time at the 1962 Turin Motor Show. It was the dream come true
of two men - company boss Renzo Rivolta, after whom the car is
named, and engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, formerly of Ferrari, who
conceived the model as a magnificent Gran Turismo.Bertone's
Giorgetto Giugiaro led the design of the elegant 2+2 coup? with
classic proportions and an impressive grille. Large windows make
for a bright cabin. The partially self-supporting sheet steel body
was manufactured by Bertone. It was mounted on to a solid steel box
frame, developed by Giotto Bizzarrini and Pierluigi Raggi. At the
front, the wheels are individually suspended on trapezoidal
triangular wishbones and coil springs, at the rear, a De Dion
construction ensures wheel control. Power four-wheel disc brakes
decelerate the power of the 5.7-litre Corvette engine, The four
gears are engaged by a fully synchronized Borg-Warner gearbox,
which transmits power to the two rear wheels. Additionally, power
steering enhances the entire driving experience. In its day within
its price range, it competed with Ferrari, Maserati and Aston
Martin. On top of that competition from the more sporty Iso Grifo,
which ultimately led to only 792 Iso Rivolta Coup?s being produced.
The cabin is luxurious and very well outfitted with leather
upholstery, wooden dash and steering wheel, Full Veglia
instrumentation, Air conditioning, Power windows and a Modern
Bluetooth stereo. Upgrades include MSD ignition system, Holley 4
Barrel carburetor, Weiand street warrior aluminum dual plane intake
manifold and Hi flow K&N air filter. Most recently this
Rivolta was in a collection with several other vintage exotics, all
are religiously maintained and exercised to keep in ready to go
condition. With a combination of sharp Italian tailoring and
powerful but reliable Detroit muscle, the Iso is undoubtedly the
best of all possible worlds and the ideal companion for
long-distance touring. Comes with Tool roll, Jack and spare
wheel/tire.
