If any car can be credited with turning Bentley around - not to
mention vaulting it into the 21st century - it's undoubtedly the
Continental GT. A thorough redesign for 2020 elevated the car's
styling inside and out, and it brought a heretofore unseen upgrade
to its tech. Underhood, the Biturbo 12-cylinder produces out a
smooth and sonorous 626 horsepower, which results in unfathomably
quick acceleration. (Car and Driver timed one at an otherworldly
3.3 seconds from a stop to 60 mph.) An active anti-roll suspension
harnesses the considerable high-voltage power from the car's
48-volt electrical system to quell roll in corners and react to
road imperfections, resulting in far more nimble handling than the
luxury-laden car's 5,000-pound curb weight might otherwise
suggest.
To celebrate the revitalization of the Continental GT lineup, the
First Edition paired a curated list of optional features from the
standard car's catalog, along with exclusive badging, door sill
plates with an exquisitely etched Union Jack motif, and dual
veneers spread across its dash and door panels.
Finished in radiant Marlin paint with a color-matched top, this
Continental GTC First Edition was initially delivered to Bentley
Rancho Mirage near Palm Springs, California. In addition to the
substantial amount of equipment banked into every Continental GT,
this particular car was further upgraded with Grand Black, Tamo
Ash, and watch movement-inspired Cotes de Geneve interior trim,
diamond knurling, and contrast stitching. The leather-lined cabin
features the Mulliner Driving Specification, including fabulous
quilted trim across the seats and door panels.
As it was among the first 2020 Continental GTC First Edition models
built during calendar year 2019, it also features unique hood and
trunk Centenary Edition badging to celebrate the marque's 100th
anniversary. The included clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report
reveals this Continental GT has been in the hands of a single owner
with servicing at official dealers and solely kept in western
states from new. Furthermore, its excellent condition is
commensurate with its low mileage recorded at just 3,047 miles at
cataloging.
