1955 Chevrolet Nomad: A Custom Classic
We are proud to present a beautifully restored custom 1955
Chevrolet Nomad. This exceptional vehicle is finished in a striking
Cherry and Silver metallic paint, complemented by a matching
interior that sets it apart from any other Nomad ever produced.
Design and Legacy
Unveiled during the early days of the automotive design
renaissance, the 1955 Nomad introduced a sleek silhouette and bold
features that distinguished it from the more utilitarian wagons of
its era. Its harmonious blend of performance and style captured the
imagination of families and car enthusiasts alike, offering both
adventure and sophistication. The creation of the Nomad was the
result of inspired design, preceding the popularity of this style.
Chevrolet transformed the two-door station wagon into a premium
vehicle, and the public responded enthusiastically.
Exterior Features
The Nomad's resemblance to the Bel-Air lineup is evident in its
wrap-around chromed bumper and broad grille. Distinctive elements
such as chromed rings around the headlights and other shiny details
on the bodywork made the Nomad a standout vehicle. Its two-door
construction featured frameless windows and split side windows for
the trunk and rear seating area-a design unique in the market. The
split opening tailgate created a convenient sitting area with a
roof overhead, perfect for those seated in the back.
Interior Highlights
Our restored Nomad showcases custom two-tone cherry and silver
bucket seats along with matching door panels, creating a cohesive
and elegant interior. A custom headliner with chrome accents
further enhances the sophistication. The carmaker installed one of
the most remarkable instrument clusters available, featuring a
triangular-shaped speedometer and two top-mounted gauges.
Performance
The 1955 Nomad was offered with either the 265 or 283 engine (3.9
liters and 4.3 liters, respectively), paired with a standard
three-speed automatic gearbox, however, our custom restored Nomad
has a brand new ZZ4 engine.
