Survivor Classic Car Service Chicago is proud to present this
lightly modified 1959 Rambler American. Under the hood sits a peppy
195.6 cubic inch inline-6 factory rated at 127 horsepower. Power is
sent through a 30speed manual transmission with an electronic
overdrive unit to the rear axle spinning the bright chrome Cragar
wheels. A set of BF Goodrich tires give a timeless look. The
interior has been completely gone through and updated with a
two-tone black and red styling. The roof has also had a vinyl top
added, not something you would have seen from the factory! Many
have noted how this Rambler looks like a '55 Chevy Belair, just at
3/4 size!
Aftermarket gauges under the dash inform you of the oil pressure,
water temp, and RPMs. The transmission shifts easily through all
the gears and the overdrive engages easily with no fuss. The
straight-six has had a bit of work to make it surprisingly peppy
when the need arises. The side and rear windows are tinted, as is
the top portion of the windshield, which adds a lot of style to the
exterior and contrasts well against the chrome. A few other custom
touches have been added, such as the hood vents from a
first-generation Camaro, as well as the fender vents from a
late-model Escalade. This Rambler has a lot of style, plenty of
pep, and is sure to be a conversation starter!
