1968 CHEVROLET CAMARO YENKO TRIBUTE, 427 CI, 4 SPEED This Yenko
tribute is a true showstopper-an exceptional example of
craftsmanship and attention to detail. Finished in its factory
color code V, British Green, it features the correct SS stripe
running down the front and sides. The arrow-straight body lines,
smooth contours, and crisp panel alignment make for a striking
profile. Gaps are tight and well above average, while the spoilers
and hood scoop add aggressive flair. Up front, everything is
spotless, including the correct T3 headlights. Yenko badges pay
homage to the original, and both the windshield and rear window are
brand new. Rubber seals and fuzzy strips have been replaced, and
the front and rear bumpers, along with all trim pieces, shine
beautifully. Dual side mirrors and door ledge moldings complete the
look. The car sits perfectly on 14" American Racing Torq Thrust
wheels wrapped in reproduction BFG radial redline tires. Interior
The cabin has been completely refinished from top to bottom using
mostly brand-new components. The seats feature new cushions and
comfortable Houndstooth upholstery. Virtually every interior
element is new: headliner, dash pad, steering column, steering
wheel, door panels, handles, levers, visors, mirror, gauge bezel,
center console, shifter, glove box liner, rear shelf, and
carpeting. Between the bucket seats sits the optional gauge package
and correct 4-speed shifter. The dash is equipped with the optional
Tic Toc Tach and the correct steering wheel. Engine Bay Under the
hood lies a date-coded, correct 427 CI engine (casting number
3916321, suffix code IM). It's outfitted with GM rectangular port
aluminum heads, a Winters intake, dual-feed Holley carb with
factory-correct fuel line, and ceramic-coated long tube headers.
The power brake system is cadmium-plated and paired with a new dual
master cylinder. Cooling is handled by a newer 4-core radiator and
clutch fan with the correct fan shroud. The underside of the
fiberglass hood, fender wells, and firewall are all neatly finished
in satin black. Trunk The trunk compartment is rust-free and solid,
with the underside of the lid and jamb painted to match the
exterior. It features new weather stripping, a spare tire, jack
assembly, lug wrench, and a fresh coat of spatter paint.
Undercarriage & Drivetrain The floors are clean metal with no rust
or patches, finished in satin black. The engine and Muncie 4-speed
manual transmission are spotless, and the transmission VIN matches
the car. The suspension appears to be fully refreshed, with new
springs, shocks, and leaf springs with updated hardware. The
braking system has been completely rebuilt, including a functional
emergency brake. Up front are disc brakes with 4-piston calipers.
The dual exhaust system is newer and exits behind the rear tires.
The gas tank and all fuel lines have been replaced. It's equipped
with a 12-bolt rear end (BU suffix code) and 4.10 posi gears.
