This 1962 Pontiac Catalina is pure old-school muscle dressed in
survivor skin. With just 44K miles, the condition speaks for
itself-original sheet metal, untouched floors, and paint, chrome,
and interior that still look damn good. Even the spare and bumper
jack are still with it. This car is solid, tight, and drives like
new-but with a hell of a lot more bite.
Born a 3-speed-on-the-column car with a radio and clock delete,
it's now packing serious firepower. Under the hood sits a built 428
out of a '67, backed by a TH400 with a shift kit and a 3,000-stall
converter. Out back, a factory posi rear with 3.55 gears keeps the
power planted. The engine snarls with aluminum heads, intake,
roller rockers, full tube headers, and fresh 3-inch exhaust all the
way out the rear. It drinks pump premium and sounds absolutely
wicked doing it.
The stance is straight drag-strip nostalgia-reproduction pie-crust
slicks out back, pie-crust front runners up front. It's still
rocking drum brakes all around, but don't let that fool you-it
stops strong and straight. Vinyl lettering was added just last year
and can peel off clean if you want a stealth look.
Extras? Oh yeah. A color-matched Super Duty scoop rides in the
trunk, untouched because drilling that mint hood was a crime. Four
poverty caps and mounting clips for the steelies are also
included.
This Catalina is equal parts time capsule and street
brawler-authentic, nasty, and begging to be unleashed.
