The tri-five Chevrolets truly have a special place in automotive
history. They have always been a popular choice among car
enthusiasts and there are no signs that will change anytime soon.
Pick out any 50's television show or movie and you are almost 100%
guaranteed to see one of these cars. They really are an iconic
group of cars and some of the most recognizable American cars of
all time. Of those everyone has their favorite whether it is the
'55, '56, or '57. No matter what year you lean towards there is
zero chance you would walk past this '56 without giving it a second
look. In a world of custom cars this flamed automobile is always
going to stand out. It has a slick gloss Black finish with flames
that stretch from the nose through the doors. The body is all solid
throughout with zero rust. It is a real Bel Air but wears the 210
trim package all of which has a nice shine. The glass is all good
with zero issues and is tinted. The car has an awesome stance and
rides on a set of clean Gray American Racing wheels wrapped with
Goodyear Eagle Sport 255/45R17 tires.
The car sits on a custom chassis that was engineered and built by
Earl Williams Classic Chassis Works out of California. It runs
great and is powered by a Dart Little "M" 406ci motor that dynos
out at 545 horsepower. It has plenty of power and is fitted with
Edelbrock aluminum heads, a roller cam, air gap Edelbrock intake,
dual 4 barrel Edelbrock 500 cfm carburetors, a Scat rotating
assembly, an EMS front runner system and a MSD Pro-Billet
distributor. The car runs cool thanks to the Be Cool crossflow
radiator/condenser and dual electric fan system. It sounds great
too with custom Earl Williams headers into the X pipe exhaust that
exits under the rear. Paired with the motor is a Silver Sport
supplied Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission with .64 OD & clutch.
That converts power back to the Strange hard case 9 inch Ford rear
end with Currie 31 spline axles. Stopping is no problem thanks to
the hydro boost power brakes with Wilwood discs under all 4
corners. Other very nice components include the CCP-500 power
steering box, 4 link rear suspension, and coil overs up front.
The interior is very nicely done in all Black leather with high
quality stitching and is in great condition. It has dual bucket
seats up front with lap belts and a bench in rear. They are all
from an early 60's Cadillac and are power adjustable. The carpeting
is all nice and the shifter is mounted to the floor. The dash is
fitted with its stock style trim but has been modified with Dakota
Digital VHX gauges. Underneath the dash sits the Vintage Air AC
system which works great and blows cold. In front of the driver
sits a tilt steering column topped off with a 3 spoke wheel with
Chevrolet horn button. The trunk offers plenty of storage space and
where you will find the relocated battery in a custom battery
box.
This is a high quality build that only utilizes the best components
throughout. It is a real head turner that is guaranteed to get
attention wherever it goes.
You couldn't come close to building it for $124,500.00!
