For Sale: 1969 Ford F100 in Cleveland, Ohio

Vehicle Description

Single-family ownership since new. Frame-off restoration in original color. Super clean Texas truck. Great-running 360 cubic inch V8 with 4-speed. Upgraded interior, 17-inch wheels, otherwise stock. A cool old pickup with a fresh restoration. This handsome 1969 Ford F100 was purchased new in Texas and spent the majority of its life there with the most recent owner's grandfather. When it was time to pass it on, the truck was showing its age, so a complete body-off restoration took place to restore the truck to its former glory. We have a nice photo album showing the work that was done, and there is indeed a bare frame, so this was a thorough job, not just a quickie paint job passing itself off as a restoration. The results are rather impressive, combining laser-straight OEM sheetmetal from Texas with quality workmanship that makes this truck show extremely well. Code 6 Pebble Beige is the truck's original color, so it was faithfully duplicated in modern urethane when it was time to repaint the smoothed and straightened sheetmetal. With a known history, we know that the truck has never been used for heavy work, so things like the bed sides, fenders, and cab corners are excellent original pieces?only the bed floor was replaced in order to get everything as good as they possibly could. Red lettering on the tailgate works quite well and all the brightwork was refinished or replaced at the same time. There's a new step bumper out back, fresh weather seals throughout, and, well, they didn't leave many stones unturned with this truck. The interior deviates a bit from OEM spec with those handsome black and white houndstooth cloth seat covers, replacing the original vinyl. Factory patterns make it blend in, and the rest is correct Ford stuff. New carpets on the floor help control noise and heat, and the dash pad has obviously been restored?it's just too nice to be original. The big steering wheel makes this pickup easy to handle, especially with factory power steering, and the long shifter lever is connected to a 4-speed manual that makes it fun to drive. The original gauges are all operational and while this is an original radio-delete truck, a modern Alpine stereo system has been cleverly hidden inside the glove box with speakers stashed throughout the cabin. A proper cardboard headliner gives it a finished look, and there are heavy-duty rubber floor mats to keep the carpets clean. Look around, you'll find a lot to like here. The engine is the truck's original 360 cubic inch V8, which is a truck-only powerplant that has a nice, fat torque curve and plenty of punch to get this hold hauler moving. It was fully rebuilt to stock specs, then dressed in Ford Blue engine enamel for a highly detailed look under the hood. Reproduction decals on the various parts give it an OEM look and you'll note that most of the other stuff is new, too, including the radiator, water pump, carburetor, distributor, master cylinder, and power steering system, which was added during the restoration. It starts easily, idles nicely, and has a nice V8 burble from the custom dual exhaust system. You'll also note that since the body was off the frame, it was easy to detail the steering, suspension, and brake components, and while there are a few minor signs of use, this is still an incredibly clean truck. There are lots of new parts, so it drives like a much younger vehicle, and it was given a light dusting of undercoating to protect the sheetmetal in the future. It still has that vintage truck stance, but those big 17-inch wheels and 245/65/17 radials help fill the wheel wells and give it a bit of an updated look.Documentation includes a binder full of restoration photos and other details. This handsome pickup looks like it does because someone loved it and getting it right mattered. There was a close family connection here and that dedication resulted in one of the nicest Ford pickups we've seen. It drives beautifully, needs nothing, and is ready to enjoy. If you like the look, you'll love the way it feels on the road.
