INTRODUCTION: This is a documented Duster 340. #s match, great
factory colors, great factory options. Documented with fender tag
and build sheet comes with a stack of receipts too. It has been
thoroughly serviced and dialed in!
EXTERIOR: The Duster 340 got better looking in '71 with dual scoops
and cool striping on the hood. Clean Texas body with original
metal. Hidden VIN #s match on the core support and package shelf.
It is really straight, the are aligned and fit just right, the
doors shut like a new car. Repainted in it's original B5 bright
blue. Very cool striping and black out hood treatment make this one
stand out. The bumpers have bright chrome, the sharks tooth grill
is excellent. New windshield and seal. It has factory 14 inch
Rallye wheels and white letter tires.
INTERIOR: Very desirable factory bucket seat and console car.
Interior was removed, dynamat was installed. New carpet and
Legendary upholstery. The dash area was completely restored. It has
the Rallye gauges and the rebuilt performance indicator is in the
middle. New lenses and chrome bezel all the way across to the glove
box, it sparkles. The original Am radio was sent out and converted
to FM ($468). New 6x9 deck speakers and dash speaker ($245). The
dash pad and steering wheel is mint. Open the glove box and the
liner is new, has the original owner's manuals in their plastic
pouch. New dash vent hoses, sunvisor tips, e-brake handle.
Headliner has been replaced, interior light works and has new
lense. New rear package tray and insulation.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN # matched, rebuilt performance 340 runs
strong. Upgraded Prestolite ignition, aluminum intake and big
Holley carb (original intake included). Many new parts- dated plug
wires, hood insulation, battery hold down, power steering pump,
washer bottle etc. The engine bay is painted body color. Very clean
metal, clean factory seams. Has the original fender tag still in
place. It has the proper components such as exhaust manifolds,
valve covers, air cleaner with the pie pan emblem. The air
conditioning was rebuilt and updated with R-134.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Amazingly it's the original metal in the trunk-
the pan and quarter panels. It's painted blue body color. Has new
spare tire board, mat and jacking instructions decal. Has spare and
the jack is complete and mounted properly. New weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Clean original metal painted body color. Look how dry
and clean the frame rails and floors are. Has VIN # matched 727
Torqueflite automatic, rebuilt by previous owner, recently
serviced. New 3.55 posi rear end. Front end was rebuilt. Shocks
replaced. Has recent dual exhaust system with correct chrome tips.
Everything is proper: e-brake hooked up, fuel & brake lines
replaced, new fuel tank etc.
CONSLUSION: This is one of those good, honest cars. If you want to
get in and use it, expect it to work and function properly, I think
this car will deliver. It has a lot to offer- colors, documented,
#s match etc. What really made me buy it was the working air
conditioning. That is hard to find in a Duster 340. Overall this
car has a lot to offer!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
refunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
