Stock Number: 2158 - This PHS Documented Ram Air TA was sold new at
La Crosse, Wisconsin. It is a numbers-matching car with its
original factory-installed engine still under the hood. It is one
of only 1,769 Ram Air III - 4 Speeds built. Its refinished Code 10
Polar White paint has a very good shine. The interior is very crisp
and clean. It runs and drives as good as it looks. There have only
been two owners of this outstanding Pontiac. The last owner
purchased the car in 1978 from the original owner, and he owned it
until we acquired it just recently.
The 2nd owner's family owned a Pontiac Dealership, and so In the
'80's, it received a full restoration. The first owner had the
Trans AM in storage, and had not been driving it. So the decision
was made to have the dealerships body shop strip the car, install
new full GM quarters, and respray the car White, his favorite Trans
AM color. All of the rest of the sheet metal is original to the
car. The original Ram Air III engine was rebuilt, and runs
excellent, shifting through the gears smoothly. It is the last year
for the heavy-duty 12 Bolt rear axle. Speaking of one-year-only
features, this Trans AM still has all 4 of its original JW coded
wheels. The interior if mostly original except for the carpet and
headliner, both of which were replaced during the restoration.
Since the restoration, the car has been sparingly driven and
primarily used as a show-car, with only a few thousand miles added.
It's been meticulously cared for and remains in outstanding
condition. Trans Ams of this caliber are increasingly difficult to
find, especially with such well-documented history, originality,
and careful long-term ownership. How many like this are truly left?
If you're looking to add a high-quality, investment-grade Pontiac
to your collection, this 1970 Ram Air III Trans Am deserves your
attention. Scroll through the high-resolution photos and see for
yourself-this may be the one you've been waiting for.
