Triumph has a history of building small, well-balanced sports cars
with their most popular model line being the TR-series sports cars.
Triumph offered 7 different models in the TR-series to the public,
beginning with the TR-2 and ending with the TR7/TR8. Possibly the
rarest TR offered to the public by Triumph was the TR250. The TR250
was only offered for sale in North America and served to bridge the
gap between the TR4 and TR6 in the Americas. A mere 8484 TR250's
were ever built for export to the Americas and only a fraction of
those still exist today. This Triumph TR250 is an excellent example
of these rare, British classics having been owned by the same owner
since 1997. During that ownership, this Triumph underwent a
complete restoration that was finished in 2001. This Triumph is
finished in its correct Signal Red exterior paint that shines
extremely well and is in excellent condition throughout. The
TR250's Signal Red exterior is nicely complimented by its factory
chrome and stainless trim, polished luggage rack, original TR250
hood emblem, and factory knock-off wire wheels wrapped in Coker
redline tires. This great Triumph, also features a period-correct,
dealer-optioned Surrey Top that is in excellent condition with only
minor paint touch-ups present. The Triumph features a factory style
Black leather interior that is in very good condition. Powering
this beautiful TR250 is its correct 2.5 Liter inline 6-cylinder
fitted with its correct, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Backing
the 2.5 Liter Inline-6 cylinder engine is its 4-speed manual
transmission. Both the engine and transmission perform just as they
should and deliver the sporty driving experience these TR-series
sports cars are known for. This TR250 is nicely equipped with power
front disc brakes, rear independent suspension, in-dash tachometer,
single speed wipers and heater/defrost. Included with the sale of
this Triumph TR250 is a collection of pictures from throughout the
restoration and center vinyl insert for the Surrey top. If you are
in the market for a very well restored classic Triumph that has
been lovingly maintained and is turn-key ready to enjoy and show,
then you will want to take a very close look at this exceptional
1968 Triumph TR250.
