Anytime you add the name Shelby to a car, it instantly gets more
impressive. Along with the GT500 in the same year, the Godfather of
Ford performance returned with this 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT.
One of just 5,632 Shelby GTs produced in its inaugural year, this
car is among the 3,373 to feature a black paint scheme and manual
transmission, making it as rare as it is impressive. Add to that a
mere 10,213 actual miles on its odometer and its original window
sticker, and this late model Pony Car is quickly becoming a
collectible show steed.
Inside, specific Shelby GT door bezels greet you as soon as the
door opens, and a plaque displaying this car's unique serial number
is mounted in the middle of the dashboard to further underscore
that this Mustang is something special. A short-throw Hurst shifter
and brushed aluminum pedal covers are subtle upgrades that add to
the overall performance vibe of the car. Heated power leather
seats, power mirrors, power locks, cruise control, air
conditioning, and a Shaker 1000 premium audio system provide all
the modern amenities one could want.
Under the hood is an aluminum block and heads, naturally-aspirated
SOHC 4.6-liter Modular V-8 engine. Upgraded with a cold-air intake,
unique X-pipe dual exhaust, and Ford Racing-specific recalibration,
this small block was capable of pumping out 319 horsepower at 5,750
rpm and 330 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. Power is routed
through Tremec TR-3650 five-speed manual transmission before
heading out to the 3.55-geared limited-slip rear end.
