It's rare enough these days to encounter a vintage panel truck in
any kind of condition motoring down the highway, but when said
vehicle has the sheer aesthetic presence of this 1959 Chevrolet
Apache Panel Delivery Restomod, the double-takes are sure to come
fast and furious. It's dressed in vibrant orange paint that has an
outstanding shine to it and is accompanied by uniformly clean
brightwork from front to back, and has an overall body panel
alignment that's tough to come by in a car of its age. But what
lies beneath this vintage Chevy's stare-inducing presence is every
bit as impressive. It features an unusual array of top-tier comfort
features and performance-enhancing components. Yes, this is one
awesome ride, for sure.
Climb inside and you'll be surrounded by a really sharp custom
interior that combines
leather with ostrich accents, with cleanly painted steel surfaces
that mirror the exterior color as a foundation. A lot of skilled
workmanship and planning went into this driving environment,
rendering it not only visually awe-inspiring but also very
well-appointed. A woodgrain steering wheel is perched on the
tilting column, and the billet instrument panel in front of it
houses an assembly of clean, clear AutoMeter gauges. Directly
below, a climate control system has been installed, and it's
working flawlessly to keep you and your passengers comfortable,
year-round. The intricately upholstered, power front bucket seats
bracket a custom-built center console, where you'll find a
touchscreen-operated Pioneer AM/FM/DVD stereo with an auxiliary
port to provide you with plenty of audio options.
This truly impressive Chevy is powered by a 350 cubic-inch V8
that's fed by an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor sitting on an
Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. Running in fine form, the
engine combines with a 4-speed automatic 4L80E transmission with an
overdrive gear to keep RPMs nice and low at highway speeds. In
addition to its strong performing drivetrain, it sits on a custom
chassis built by Scott's Hotrods, out of Knoxville, TN, and
featuring a great assembly of quality components, including a
RideTech suspension at all four corners. Power steering makes this
substantial vehicle easy to navigate, while 4-wheel power disc
brakes that include Wilwood calipers equip it with plenty of
stopping ability.
