In the annals of the autoverse, muscle cars are as revered and
imposing as the Chevelle. One look at this 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle
SS Tribute 572 Restomod, and despite being out of production since
1977, it's easy to see why this car has left an indelible mark on
enthusiasts worldwide. Fully repainted in a brilliant Red,
complemented by a set of full-length black painted SS stripes to go
along with its cowl-induction hood, this Tribute shows off the
aggressive lines of the Chevelle from any angle.
Inside, we find a clean black vinyl interior. A center console
separates a pair of modern, plush, and supportive bucket seats,
while a power-assisted, three-spoke steering wheel sits just ahead
of a column-mounted AutoMeter 10,000 rpm tachometer, while a trio
of white-faced auxiliary gauges sits under the dashboard. A chrome
B&M shifter serves as both a hand rest and an excitement
lever.
Under the hood, we find a clean engine bay featuring a massive 572
cubic-inch V-8 engine, reportedly built by Skip White Racing
engines, on display in all its glory. This Dart Big M block is
topped with a classic chrome air cleaner and '572' embossed valve
covers, this big block sports a single four-barrel Holley Proform
1050 carburetor, while spent gases are expelled through a set of
long tube headers and Pypes dual exhaust. That power is routed
through a built TH400 three-speed automatic transmission before
being sent to a beefed-up nine-inch rear end, which translates
those ponies to the pavement via a set of 18-inch American Racing
wheels.
