"The 1950 Mercury Monterey emerges not merely as a car but as a
testament to post-war American optimism and ingenuity. Birthed by
the Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company, this vehicle was a
stylish step-up from the standard Mercury Eight series. The
Monterey held its own in an era defined by automotive innovation
and served as a beacon of luxury and performance."-metrommp.com
This 1950 Mercury Monterey is featured in an alluring black
exterior finish and complemented by a blue interior. The running
gear is the legendary eight-cylinder flathead mated to a
three-speed manual column shift transmission.
The black paint, although older, presents very well with a great
luster and smooth finish which accents the design of the abundance
of chrome. The blue vinyl and cloth upholstery shows well with no
area of excessive wear and only a minor sag in the headliner. The
interior features an original AM radio, although not currently
working.
When opening the trunk lid you will find a finished trunk
compartment with rubber matting and a spare tire with a jack.
The engine bay appears in near factory configuration featuring the
iconic flathead motor. Turn the key to the on position push the
button and the V8 comes to life as it smoothly rumbles through the
dual exhaust. This classic would be an excellent example for a
Mercury enthusiast or collector to add to their garage.
