Introduced as Japan's first true supercar, the Acura NSX famously
blended exotic car performance with everyday useability, earning
its place as one of the most celebrated sports cars of the modern
era. The distinguished 2002 styling update brought with it a suite
of changes that further sharpened the NSX's appeal and polished it
for the new century. Most notably, the retractable headlights were
replaced with fixed HID units, accompanied by a revised front
fascia, new side sills with increased aerodynamics, and black mesh
vents for a more contemporary, aggressive appearance. Mechanical
improvements included larger 17-inch forged alloy wheels, a
slightly quicker steering ratio, and a wider rear track for
enhanced handling. Inside, detail refinements elevated the
cockpit-including aluminum trim surrounding the center console,
contrasting stitching on the dash, and optional color-matching
upholstery. Just 246 NSXs were made for 2002, with all U.S.-bound
examples fitted with the removable targa top.
This 2002 Acura NSX-T is finished in Spa Yellow Pearl with an Onyx
Leather interior. It is powered by the 3.2-liter V6 with a
six-speed manual transmission, making 290 horsepower and 224 lb-ft
of torque. In addition to an impressive list of standard premium
features the NSX received in 2022, this car has been optioned with
the six-disc trunk-mounted CD changer and embroidered NSX trunk
mats.
According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, this car was
first registered in Kansas in August 2002. The NSX was offered for
sale at an Acura dealership two years later with 17,000 miles
recorded and changed hands that June. It was sold again in May 2005
and was registered in Utah, where it remained long term-enjoying a
moderately dry climate in the Sun Belt. The car was serviced in
Logan, Utah in 2021, with additional maintenance at Jody Wilkinson
Acura in Salt Lake City the following July. Later that year it was
acquired by its most recent private owner, relocating to Texas and
receiving continued care at Grubbs Acura in Grapevine, including a
rear brake pad replacement in November 2023 and a service
inspection in January 2024. At a point the car received new
Bilstein shock absorbers and a slightly lower ride height for an
extra sporing look.
Offered with 42,300 miles at time of cataloging, this 2002 Acura
NSX-T represents the evolution of Acura's landmark supercar into
the 21st century, tempering the NSX's timeless design with modern
refinements. With its desirable six-speed manual transmission,
premium amenities, and striking Spa Yellow finish, this icon of
usability and performance remains as thrilling to drive as it is
collectable.
