--Rosso over Panna Leather with Red Piping and Tan carpeting, 5.7
Liter V12 Engine, 5-Speed manual Gearbox, 7,000km, (4,000miles)
from new, Immaculate condition throughout. The Diablo was presented
to the public for sale on 21 January 1990. Its power came from a
5.7 L (348 cu in) dual overhead cam, 4 valves per cylinder version
of the existing V12 engine and featured computer-controlled
multi-point fuel injection, producing a maximum output of 492 PS
(362 kW; 485 hp) and 580 Nm (428 lbfft) of torque to reach a top
speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). The Diablo was rear-wheel drive and
the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance. Auto Motor
und Sport measured 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, 0-160 km/h
(99 mph) in 9.3 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 13.7 seconds.
The Diablo came equipped with standard features including fully
adjustable seats, adjustable steering wheel, electric windows and
an Alpine stereo system. This Diablo was further optioned with a
remote CD changer, subwoofer and a rear spoiler. While early
iterations of the Diablo were penned by Countach designer Marcello
Gandini, American designer Tom Gale is ultimately credited with the
looks of the production car. Although the classic wedge look
remained, the Diablo was sleeker than the Countach, with
dramatically improved aerodynamics and more seamlessly integrated
necessities like impact bumpers and marker lights, allowing it to
be sold worldwide. These early cars are regarded as some of the most
exciting Diablos to drive, thanks to their lack of ABS, traction
control, or power steering. That being said, overall refinement was
significantly higher than on its predecessor, the Countach, a more
spacious cabin, making the Diablo a far more usable car. This
US-specification 1991 Diablo is from the first full year of
production and was originally delivered to champion boxer Julio
C?sar Chvez. Benefitting from another long-term owner, this Diablo
has been maintained when and where needed by its previous owner.
Recent servicing includes new fluids and filters as well as new
Pirelli tires for its factory original five-hole OZ multi piece
wheels. Comes complete with its original owner?s manual and
maintenance book, along with the factory tool kit and service
gloves, this first-generation Diablo is an excellent opportunity to
add a very nicely preserved example of Lamborghini?s ultimate 1990s
supercar to your garage.
