Its power came from a 5.7 L (348 cu in) dual overhead cam, 4 valves per cylinder version of the existing V12 engine and featured computer-controlled multi-point fuel injection, producing a maximum output of 492 PS (362 kW; 485 hp) and 580 Nm (428 lbfft) of torque to reach a top speed of 325 km/h (202 mph). The Diablo was rear-wheel drive and the engine was mid-mounted to aid its weight balance. Auto Motor und Sport measured 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, 0-160 km/h (99 mph) in 9.3 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 13.7 seconds. The Diablo came equipped with standard features including fully adjustable seats, adjustable steering wheel, electric windows and an Alpine stereo system.
