Here we have a well-maintained 1970 Chevrolet Camaro RS Z28
Tribute. The black stripes laid across the red paint are perfect
for this era of muscle cars. The wheels fit right in with the
chrome bumpers, original-looking front grille, and lower chin
spoiler. The rest of the chrome and badges are in the right places.
The cowl induction hood looks right at home and goes perfectly with
the spoiler out back and the shiny tail pipes that stick out just
the right amount. All the body panels appear to be nice and
straight, the doors shut well, the weather stripping is in good
condition, and the glass is free of any major damage.
The black interior is accented by shiny brightwork and brown veneer
inlays. The front bucket and rear bench seats are in good shape and
comfortable, as are the door panels, with only a little fading from
normal wear. The headliner and carpet are clean and in good
condition-carpets are protected by very cool red Z28 floor mats.
The center console houses an easy-to-reach Hurst shifter for
slamming gears. A stock-appearing Z28 steering wheel is connected
to a tilt steering column that runs to a factory gauge cluster,
where all the gauges look very presentable and easy to read.
Underneath the dash and gauge cluster are your climate controls to
the left of the steering column, and what appears to be a
stock-style AM/FM radio to the right.
Peeking under the hood reveals a very nicely painted Chevy Orange
350 cubic-inch V8 with an aluminum Winters intake and a Holley
4-barrel carburetor. The air cleaner looks correct, and the chrome
shines very well. The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed manual that
sends power back to a 10-bolt rear axle. The front suspension
features control arms with coil springs and shocks, while the rear
features leaf springs with shocks. Fifteen-inch Z28 wheels with
beauty rings are wrapped in BFG Radial T/A 235/60R15 tires. For
stopping duties, power front disc brakes are paired with power rear
drum brakes.
