This 1968 Plymouth Barracuda is a true head-turner, finished in a
dazzling custom red metal flake exterior with bold black stripes
and accented by a fresh custom black vinyl top. Its aggressive
stance is enhanced by a custom hood scoop, blacked-out chrome trim,
custom headlights, and American Racing wheels painted to match the
body for a cohesive and striking look. Inside, a completely new
custom black interior adds both comfort and style, complemented by
modern conveniences such as heat and air conditioning.
Under the hood, this Barracuda packs a 340 cubic-inch V8 paired
with an automatic transmission, delivering the kind of power and
muscle that defined the era. Performance and reliability upgrades
abound, including a new high-rise intake manifold, new carburetor,
new chrome valve covers, new air cleaner, new alternator, new
battery, and a new radiator. A complete tune-up has already been
performed, ensuring it's ready to hit the road. Stopping power and
handling are modernized with power disc brakes and power steering,
while a new kill switch adds peace of mind when the car is stored.
The undercarriage has been thoroughly cleaned and finished with
rock chip coating for long-lasting durability, and the trunk
features a new mat for a clean, factory-inspired appearance.
The Plymouth Barracuda holds a special place in muscle car history.
First introduced in 1964, it was one of the earliest competitors to
the Ford Mustang, helping launch the pony car wars of the 1960s. By
1968, the Barracuda had evolved into a bold, powerful machine that
embodied Mopar performance and attitude. Offered in fastback,
coupe, and convertible styles, the '68 Barracuda represented a
blend of style and muscle that has become increasingly sought after
by collectors and enthusiasts today. This particular example takes
that iconic foundation and enhances it with tasteful custom touches
and modern upgrades, making it both a tribute to the past and a
unique machine for the present.
