Delivered new through P.C. Pacific in Burlingame, California, and
sold to the first owner in San Francisco, California. This
numbers-matching 356C Sunroof Coupe is finished in the classic
original color combination of Slate Grey (6401) with a Red
leatherette interior. Optional factory equipment includes
ventilated chrome wheels, Continental tires, and a dealer-installed
Goldie sunroof.
The paintwork presents beautifully with excellent gaps and panel
fit, and the paintwork is protected by a full-body 3M clear bra.
The brightwork, glass, and exterior trim are in superb condition,
and the interior features a factory VDM steering wheel, Blaupunkt
radio, VDO instrumentation, red CoCo mats, and a manual sunroof.
Chrome slotted 4.5" x 15" wheels are mounted to Vredestein Sprint
Classic 165 15 tires (date coded 2024). The undercarriage is in
exceptionally condition and is solid and rust-free.
Benefiting from meticulous care, this 356C has received significant
attention over recent years. Farland Classic Restoration performed
a full exterior and undercarriage detail in 2021, followed by
ceramic and hydrophobic coating. The same year, a full 3M clear
film wrap was applied at a cost of $6,645. Later mechanical
servicing by Rowe Performance in Colorado included a leak-down test
(4% to 5% across all cylinders), Solex 40 PII-4 carburetors were
installed, the rear flywheel seal was replaced, an electric fuel
pump and a new engine sound pad were installed. Most recently, in
May 2024, European Collectibles carried out further work, including
new S-pipes, a brake master cylinder, the sunroof was serviced with
new cables and seals installed, and the transmission was completely
rebuilt with new bearings, gaskets, and seals.
Retaining its numbers-matching 1600cc flat-four engine (Type
616/15) with 1720cc pistons and cylinders, a 4-speed manual
transmission (Type 741), and four-wheel disc brakes. This 356C
Sunroof Coupe is accompanied by a Porsche Kardex, Porsche
Certificate of Authenticity, owner's manual, spare wheel, tool kit,
jack, and service documentation. This is a stunning 356, and it is
mechanically well-sorted. An excellent opportunity to acquire a
superbly maintained 356C that is the final and most refined
iteration of Porsche's legendary 356.
