The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS454 LS6 is regarded as the pinnacle
of American muscle for General Motors during the muscle car
horsepower wars of the 60s and 70s. The LS6 was the Top Dog of
engine options offered in the1970 model year and the most powerful
engine General Motors ever installed in a Chevelle or any A Body
Vehicle Produced. The horsepower comes from a 454 CU IN Cast Iron
Engine with a set of high-performance rectangle port cylinder heads
and topped with a Winters Aluminum intake manifold and a Holley
780CFM 4-barrel Carburetor. Internally a set of pop-up pistons and
a .520 lift solid lifter camshaft helped boost this Big Block to
legendary status with a compression ratio of 11:25:1 rated at
450Horsepower and 450 Ft Lb of Torque.Only 4,475 total Units were
produced in 1970 with the LS6 Option including Chevelle Coupes,
convertibles and El Caminos. This is no ordinary LS6 Chevelle
Finished in Code 19 Tuxedo Black with D88 Stripe Delete, Black

most important part of any restoration is the originality of the
factory installed components. You must remember that when these
cars were new they were driven hard, raced and blown up especially
the LS6 cars. So many of these cars were blown up racing light to
light or on the Mile, it makes you wonder how many still retain not
only the original engine but also their original transmission and
rear differentials. This Chevelle still remains with all three as
