--Spa Silver with Smoke Grey leather Interior, Grey carpeting, 3.5
liter V-6 Twin Turbo engine, 5-Speed manual transmission, 5,800
original Kilometers/3,600 Miles from new, Long-term collector
ownership, one of 277 production cars. Jaguar wowed the
world when they revealed their new concept/prototype car in 1988.
The goal was an ultra-exclusive supercar with unbelievable
specifications that can compete with any thoroughbred. As its place
in history, many promises were made in the tabloids of engine, top
speed and performance specs. After a few years of planning in the
1980s, Ford Motor Company completed their purchased of Jaguar.
While the XJ220 project was kept alive, specifications were altered
by the time production started. The XJ220 was fitted with a
Cosworth-designed, 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 as used in the XJR-11
racecar. With more than 540bhp, this propelled the Jag well over
200mph test driven by F1 great Martin Brundle. This made the Jaguar
faster than the F40 and the Diablo and the fastest production car
in the world until the McLaren F1. This XJ220 was produced
on January 7th, 1994. Originally sold in Germany where it remained
until 2004, the Jag was then imported to the United States and sold
to a doctor in Florida. It was then sold to its last caretaker, a
well-known collector in 2010 and has been immaculately maintained
ever since. The car was sent to Jeff Snyder, a well-known Jaguar
restorer, for a new fuel cell, servicing and reworking the entire
fuel system and new tires. After this work was completed, the car
was shipped back to Jaguar in Coventry in 2011 and the factory
completely went through and serviced all components including
rebuilding the engine to exact original European factory specs. As
the Jag was finishing its service work, the Aston Martin Owners
Club invited XJ220s and their owners to show their cars as a
special class at their Spring concours. The owner drove the car
from Coventry to Oxford and then to a building in Bloxham, which
was the original XJ220 factory (later became the DB7
factory). Maintained and cared for regardless of use and
with only 5,700 Kilometers, most recent servicing has included a
full service tune up w/timing belts, complete fuel system service,
new tires and sport exhaust at 5,640 km. This is simply one of the
best XJ220s available in the world. It is in superb condition
throughout, and all systems working exactly as they should. This
XJ220 is complete with its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust
Certificate, all original books owners and service manuals, service
records include all engine work, original first aid kit (still in
its plastic), wheel tool and complete promotional and brochure
material from prototype to launch. A landmark model in
Jaguars amazing history, the XJ220 is still the company's
fastest-ever production car. The XJ220 remains highly collectible,
sought after by Jaguar enthusiasts and supercar collectors alike.
With gorgeous supercar looks and top-level performance, this
beautiful XJ220 represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire one
of the most significant supercars of its era.
