The C4 represented a paradigm shift in the world of the Crossed
Flags. Spanning from 1984 to 1996, finding a well-kept example like
this 1993 Chevrolet Corvette 40th Anniversary Convertible is
something many of us have been searching for. With a mere 21,597
actual miles on its odometer, this Brilliant Red Metallic drop-top
is one of only 2,171 Anniversary convertibles ever made to
celebrate the Corvette's triumphant 40 years. Whether with its
bodycolor hardtop in place or its convertible top up or down, this
Corvette demands attention everywhere it goes.
Hop inside and you'll be treated to a beautiful Ruby Red leather
interior highlighted by a set of well-bolstered, supportive power
bucket seats separated by a large and lockable center console. The
four-spoke padded steering wheel sits in front of the C4's
signature analog/digital dashboard. The easy-to-use HVAC control
buttons remain as they were originally installed, as does the Delco
Bose AM/FM/Cassette stereo system. Choose your soundtrack, while
the power locks, windows, mirrors, air conditioning, and cruise
control allow for all the luxury that a late-model sports car
offers.
Pop the signature front-hinged hood, and we find the 350 cubic-inch
LT1 V-8, which, when new, pumped out a sizable 300 horsepower and
340 pound-feet of torque. However, this car has been upgraded with
a set of SLP Jet Hot-coated shorty headers and a Borla cat-back
exhaust, which undoubtedly increases that already substantial power
peak. That modern muscle is funneled through a 700R4 four-speed
automatic transmission before heading out to the rear, which the
current owner tells us now houses a Dana 44 that features a set of
3.42 gears. This modification makes the car get up and go much
quicker than it did with its original, taller 2.59 gear set. From
there, those ponies are off to a set of 17-inch wheels shod in big
285/40ZR-17 Continental tires, while a narrower set of 255/45ZR-17s
handles steering duties up front.
