Cruisin Classics is excited to present to you today this
over-the-top cool 1931 Ford Street Rod. If you're on the hunt for a
first-rate street rod built with high-end premium components, this
'31 is going to knock your socks off! This Ford is an all-steel
body with a 4" chop-top on a Brookville Roadster rolling chassis
with Pete and Jake's suspension, a built 383 Stroker motor, a TCI
Streetfighter automatic transmission, a beautiful custom interior,
and a show-quality paint job with tasteful hand-painted
pinstriping! And that's just the tip of the iceberg for this
stunning '31 - let's dig a little deeper into this incredible
ride...
The first thing that catches your eye on this car is the slick and
glossy red paint that looks deep enough to dive into. The body and
paint-work were done by Dave Hall here in Ohio, and the
hand-painted pinstripes and graphics were done by Ed Garvin of
Maryland. Carl's Body Shop here in Ohio did the chop-top that
really gives this car an aggressive look. The body is original
steel, including the door frames, with a steel hood, sides, braces,
hinges, and latches from Hoosier Hoods. Up front, you'll find a
bright chrome vertical grille in a 32" shell topped with elegant
pinstripes and flanked by 10" chrome Ford headlights. Beneath is a
chrome spreader bar with integrated turn signal indicators from
Danny's Rod Shop that links the frame horns. Setting off the narrow
front end is a full front end suspension from Pete and Jake's,
dressed in chrome, of course. Beneath the rooftop visor, you'll see
a chrome-framed windshield that tilts outward from the bottom just
as it should. At the top corners are round chrome side mirrors that
help you to keep an eye on what's going on behind you. Viewed from
the side, the staggered wheels and tires are a standout - new
chrome American Racing Torq Thrust wheels with Classic Radial
LL800's (P165 80 R15) up front and BF Goodrich Radial T/A's (P295
50 R15) on the rear. Visible through the wheels are red Wilwood
brake calipers in the front and red painted drums in the rear.
Further enhancing the side view are hood side vents, bright door
handles, tinted windows, and "Ole Red 31" script beneath the rear
quarter windows. Good looks continue around back with a locking
teardrop gas fill door, and elaborate pinstriping on the decklid
above the chrome handle. "Living the Dream" is painted on the rear
roll-pan, and it's flanked by elliptical taillights. Below is a set
of Megs chrome exhaust tips that let out quite a roar when you fire
the car up. A peek under the rear end reveals a 17-gallon stainless
steel gas tank by Boyd's and rear suspension from Pete and
Jake's.
Lift the side-hinged hood to find an impeccably clean and
well-presented engine bay. At the center is a 383ci V8 Stroker
motor built by Kentucky Motor Speed Shop. (Please note: we do not
have receipts for the engine build, and we are relying on
information provided by the previous owner as to the internal parts
that we can not see.) The 4-bolt main block was square decked, line
bored, and honed, then it was outfitted with Speed Pro
hypereutectic pistons, an Eagle crank and rods, and a 293 Comp Cam
camshaft. The block is topped off with ProComp aluminum heads, a
Pro Products dual plane intake, a Demon "Speed Demon" 4-barrel
carburetor, finned Edelbrock valve covers, and a matching Edelbrock
air cleaner. The good stuff doesn't stop there, though. There is a
new Billet distributor, new red high-performance plug wires, a new
coil and wire, a new starter, a new alternator, new stainless steel
braided hoses, and a new chrome radiator hose that connects to a
Walker Radiator with a Walker super-duty electric fan. The hearty
V-8 is mated to a TCI Streetfighter TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission with a shift kit and a 2500 stall converter. Power is
sent to the rear wheels via a 9" rear end with freeway-friendly
3.30:1 gears. Steering is manual, and so are the front disc and
rear drum brakes, though in such a lightweight car, this is
perfectly adequate. Exhaust flows through cerakoted headers and
straight pipes before exiting the tips with a roar that commands
attention.
Prepare to be impressed when you swing open the driver's door and
find a gorgeous custom interior dressed in tan vinyl and brown
distressed leather-look vinyl. The custom door panels, kick panels,
and rear side panels are done in both materials and flow seamlessly
together with a timeless style. Look upward and find that the
headliner is also a custom job done in tan vinyl. Underfoot is
like-new tan carpet topped with custom-made brown floormats with a
brown vinyl border. The bench seat is incredibly comfortable, and
it's covered in brown leather-look vinyl. This same brown vinyl is
used again for the shift and e-brake boots found on the center
floor. The shifter is topped with a ghoulish red skull knob - a fun
touch. The driver is treated to a Forever Sharp wood-rimmed banjo
steering wheel with a working horn on a chrome Ididit tilt column.
The dash is red painted steel with more pinstriping and a chrome
gauge bezel in the center that houses a fresh set of VDO gauges
that include oil, temp, fuel, volts, and a speedometer. The
odometer reads 5,437, and we believe that to be the mileage since
the build took place. Under the dash is a switch that operates the
single driver's side windshield wiper (working). Other interior
highlights include a chrome oval-shaped rearview mirror,
chrome-trimmed pedals, and bright chrome sill plates. Please note
that there is no heat, fan, or A/C, and there is no radio (typical
of these street rods). It should also be noted that the interior
door handles do not open the doors; they must be opened with the
outside handle. Around back, under the decklid, you'll find a fully
finished trunk that carries through all of the materials and style
from inside the car. The battery has been relocated to the trunk
and has a nice cove, and there is also a hidden storage area under
a vinyl panel with "1931 Ford" emblazoned on it. This Ford does
come with a small folder of receipts, but none of the major items
from the build are on them.
If it's a turn-key street rod that you're searching for, then
you'll be hard-pressed to find one as impressive as this '31 Ford!
There is no way you could build this car today for what we're
asking for it, and this one is done and ready to hit the road now!
Give our friendly staff a call and make this awesome ride your
own!
