Classic Car Addict is proud to present this 1970 Pontiac Firebird
Trans Am Ram Air III for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. This
Pontiac underwent a restoration in 2015. The second-generation
F-Body Firebird is much sought after because of its automotive
design and combination of power. GM design chief Bill Mitchell had
an affinity for European cars and that can be seen on the 1970
Firebird with its longer nose and fast sloping rear profile, a real
head turner with essentially the same dimensions as the 1969
model.
The cockpit is fitted with black (code 218) vinyl bucket seats up
front and a two-seat rear bench as well as matching door panels,
dash, headliner, center console, Hurst shifter and carpeting. Music
comes from a push-button AM/FM transistor radio and a single
speaker mounted in the center of the dashboard. Interior of the car
is very clean with no rips or tears in the upholstery. The
instrument panel features an engine-turned aluminum bezel and
consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and
supporting gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil
pressure, and voltage.
Since undergoing restoration in 2015, this Trans AM has reportedly
been garage-kept in Massachusetts. The exterior was repainted in
its original Polar White (code 10) with blue stripes. Equipment
includes a Shaker hood, vented fenders, dual color-keyed racing
mirror caps, and a dual exhaust system. The reportedly correct,
KR-stamped 15-inch wheels with PMD center caps are wrapped in
BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
This car features the 400CI/345 HP engine (0553136WS), coupled to
the M20 wide ratio 4 speed manual transmission and 12 bolt axle
with 3.73 gear ratio. Engine built with Pontiac's well-regarded,
high-flow No. 12 head castings, with 2.11/1.77-inch valves and
comparatively large 72cc combustion chambers. It also featured a
block with four-bolt mains. 1 of 1,769 with 4 Speed & Ram Air III.
We do have receipts and PHS documents.
