1957 Pontiac Chieftain came with an all-new theme that included
missile shaped side trim, extended rear fenders with V-shaped tips,
and lower hood. To match the new body lines the Chieftain offered
more performance and better handling package. The 1957 model year
saw the engine increase to 347 cu in (5.7L) with a "Tri-Power"
Pontiac engines horsepower increasing to 290hp. The 347 built by
Dave's Valley Auto has just 2,237 miles on the build. The famous
Pontiac first generation P/O 9.3-inch rear case. Built rock solid.
As the saying goes, "Race on Sunday sold on Monday!"
1957 Pontiac Chieftain has had a complete restoration. An upgrade
to Wilwood front disc brakes, full dual exhaust with Flowmaster
mufflers. Holley electric fuel pump. Chieftain is done in a
stunning red paint. The '57 is an example of the car driven by
Cotton Owen's to win the Daytona 500 in 1957. All the chrome and
stainless rocker panel moldings have been redone and polished.
Lighted front fender marker lights including glass look as if new.
They truly are in perfect condition. The fit and finish are
outstanding. All wiring has been redone. This is a rust-free
restoration.
The all-new interior done in black with the Pontiac Chief logo has
been embroidered in both front and back seats as will the door
panels. The unique horizontal slide speedometer gauge has been
completely rebuilt. All the original gauges have been restored. The
dash bright work and trim look as if new...beautiful. A classic
Mooneyes tachometer has been added. An updated AM/FM stereo has
been neatly hidden in the glove box.
The build comes with all paperwork. The '57 looks and drives as if
new.
