Custom trucks done-up this nice don't come around too often. This
1956 Chevrolet 3100 Custom presents a Metallic Red paint job that
just pops out at you. It goes great with the curves of the
step-side short-bed look, the retro wheels, and the chrome bumpers.
This truck has the perfect stance, a clean undercarriage, and a bed
that uses classy wood planks with shiny separators to finish off
the look. If you're looking for a vehicle that can go to car shows
and draw tons of attention, this is your gem.
Just as much time and detail went into the interior as the
exterior. Red and black vinyl bench seats create a very cool look,
paired with a matching headliner. Black carpeting with a red
Chevrolet emblem in the center ties it all together. The door
panels and dashboard are painted solid red to match the exterior
and are in great shape. The custom gauge cluster includes dolphin
aftermarket gauges. To the right is a RetroSound radio, and next to
that are the climate controls, which look factory-restored.
Complementing the setup is a billet steering wheel and billet gas
and brake pedals. In the middle of the floor on the transmission
tunnel sits a Lokar shifter handle and brake lever. For added
kicks, aftermarket speakers are mounted in the kick panels.
The engine bay is nicely painted flat black and houses a rebuilt
454 cubic-inch big-block, finished in Chevy Orange. It's equipped
with an aluminum radiator and electric fans, aluminum valve covers,
billet pulleys for accessories, and an Edelbrock intake topped with
a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Mated to the big-block is a TH400
3-speed automatic transmission that sends power back to a 12-bolt
rear axle.
The front suspension features a straight axle with leaf springs and
shocks, while the rear uses a solid axle with leaf springs and
shocks. American Racing 17-inch wheels sit up front, and 18-inch
wheels are mounted in the rear. These are wrapped in 245/45ZR17
Nitto tires in the front and 295/45ZR18 Nitto tires in the rear.
Braking is handled by front power disc brakes and rear power drums.
Shorty headers push the exhaust through dual pipes and aftermarket
mufflers.
