--Marrone Metalizatto with Beige leather interior and Beige
carpeting, Restored, Recent full service, 3.0 Liter V8, 5-speed
manual, Factory sunroof, Ferrari Classiche Red Book, Exceptional
throughout. After a 20 plus year partnership with Pininfarina,
Ferrari utilized Bertone to design its first production mid-engined
V-8, the Dino 308 GT4. The decision was made to mount the engine
transversely to allow for 2+2 seating, which would complement the
246 GT/GTS in the Dino lineage. The Dino name was retained until
the end of 1976, when it was badged as a Ferrari to accommodate for
popular demand. During development of the GT4, Ferrari engineers
worked alongside Nikki Lauda and Clay Regazzone for several months
of testing. This 308 GT4 was produced in June 1980 and registered
as a 1981. It was part of the final production of the car. This
example is also the very last one produced with a factory sunroof.
An older repaint in gorgeous Marrone Metalizatto that shows
exceptionally well, it would be a welcomed concours entrant at a
moments notice. It has gone through a complete mechanical
refurbishment by Naples Classic Car in the past. It is currently
receiving a scheduled, major service to be ready and turn key for
its next new owner. Imported to the United States, it remained in
exceptional, fanatic collector care since. Fanatic is the nice way
of putting it, it was owned in the past by well-known Ferrari
enthusiast owner, Mr. R. Intile. As a friend of Rick's, I can say,
this Dino has always been cared for a maintained regardless of
cost, "fanatic", no, "psychotic" is more like it. This GT4 had
never been released from its garage unless the barometric pressure
was conducive to its use! It has always been stored and run on high
octane race fuel. Rick, when you see this ad, feel the love, you
are as psychotic as we are! :) Thanks for always caring for this
GT4 in such a fashion. Consigned to us by Mr. Intile, the GT4 was
then sold to another good friend of Autosport Designs, Inc. It was
used seasonally in NY's Hamptons. At this time, this 308 GT4 was
serviced, when and where needed at all times to be kept in superb
condition. Due to change in direction with regard to the clients
collection, the GT4 was consigned to Autosport Designs, Inc. and
sold immediately to a collector in New Mexico.Kept in its most
recent ownership for the past three years, this 308 GT4 has once
again returned to Autosport Designs, Inc. and offered to market. It
has once again been maintained, when and where needed in fastidious
fashion. It is quite rare to see a 308 GT4 in this superb
condition, these GT4's are wonderful vintage Ferrari's with rear
seating for kids, air conditioning. They are a pleasure to drive
and have superb carbureted Ferrari V8 intake and exhaust note. The
GT4 has seen excellent service history with records and has
completed its Ferrari Classiche Red Book Certification. It is
complete with original books, tools, jack, spare wheel, service
records and the aforementioned Red Book. This 308 GT4 is turn-key
and ready for immediate enjoyment.
