This 1982 Jeep CJ-7 Laredo is a nice, clean, all steel Jeep that
spent its life in California and Arizona. The previous owner did
quite a bit of work to make this a reliable rig. We believe it is a
original Laredo due to the factory chrome grille, aluminum side
moldings, and leather wrapped grab handle. The body on this CJ is
clean and straight. At some point it was repainted dark Blue and
had new decals installed. All of the original trim is still nice
and the front bumper was set up to flat tow. The rear bumper is
stock and still has the original bumperettes. The underside is
super clean and solid. We found no rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior is your basic Jeep interior with new front bucket
seats and new carpet. The rear seat, door panels, dash, and dash
bezel are original and nice. There is no radio installed in the
dash. It does have a factory roll bar. The headlights, taillights,
brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work
and fuel gauge is an aftermarket one. The windshield wipers, heat,
and horn are all working on this vehicle.
Mechanically this Jeep is great and it runs and drives down the
road great as well. The engine is the original 4.2L 258 inline 6
that runs excellent. They added Mopar EFI Fuel Injection installed
on it when it was rebuilt. We did not get receipts and the last
owner did not know when the owner before him had it done. Some of
the newer parts include a fuel pump, radiator, and tune-up. It has
the T4 4 Speed Manual transmission that shifts nice with a good
clutch. It is mated to the Dana 300 transfer case and the 4WD works
like it should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 3.54 gears. The
front axle is a Dana 30 with 3.54 gears. It has a newer 2 1/2 inch
lift with new springs and a really nice set of Fox Shocks. This is
all sitting on a newer set of Black Steel Wheels with 33 Inch BFG
All Terrain tires.
