*1965 Ford Mustang Coupe*When the Ford Mustang debuted in April of
1964 as a 1964 1/2 model year, it caused a sensation never before
seen in the automotive world. A stylish, affordable coupe that
could be customized to fit any use case and budget from the
factory, the Mustang went on to be the fastest selling new car in
history, with more than half a million cars sold in the first year,
with over 22,000 ordered on the day of its release. This 1965
Mustang was part of that group and remains an absolutely fantastic
looking car that has been treated to a very nice driver
restoration.This 1965 Mustang A-Code is finished in a beautiful
shade of Ivy Green metallic which was applied during the
restoration by West Coast Collision in 2016. Looking around the
car, you can tell that the shop really knows what they are doing
when it comes to paint and body work, with laser straight bodywork
and panel gaps around the car that Ford couldn't have dreamed of in
1965. The car now sits on a set of later Mustang Magnum 500 wheels,
which fit the look of the car perfectly and are wrapped in a set of
Radial T/A tires.During the restoration, the interior was also
completely reupholstered in the original style. The black vinyl
throughout the interior is a nice compliment to the green exterior
and the quality of the upholstery work is quite high. Slide down
into the driver's seat and you are met by a GT350-style wood-rimmed
wheel that feels great in the hands and frames the horizontal
120-mph speedometer. Aside from the new wheel, the only other
modification of note is an original looking head unit from Custom
Autosound with USB and Aux capabilities giving you modern
convenience with a classic look.Powering this Mustang is a 289
cubic inch V8. Known as an A-Code, this was one of the higher
performing variants of Mustang in the model's first year, with
higher compression (10:1) pistons and a 4bbl carburetor which
combined to make 225 horsepower. During the restoration, the heads
were rebuilt and the engine bay was refinished, in the original
style, but to a higher level of finish than it would have had from
the factory. Power is then sent through a C4 3-speed automatic
gearbox to the rear wheels. The suspension was completely refreshed
and the car now has front disc brakes and power steering so it is
much nicer to drive.Without a doubt, the original Ford Mustang is
one of the most beloved classic cars in the world. Pretty much
everybody has a story about a Mustang, and there is no better way
to make your own than from behind the wheel of this car. Presented
in excellent condition throughout, this is the perfect cruise night
car, or could serve as a great basis to do some mechanical upgrades
and turn it into a high performance street machine. Whatever you
decide, with all the hard work already completed, this Mustang is
ready to be enjoyed and will always make you smile when you slide
behind that steering wheel.*Key Features* * Restored by West Coast
