INTRODUCTION: 4 x NCRS Top Flight winner, 35,779 actual miles, 1
owner for 45 years! Factory Tuxedo Black is extremely desirable,
add to it the saddle tan interior and you have one extremely rare
combination! Oh yeah, it's a fuel injected, #s matching car as
well.
HISTORY: Scrutinized by several experts and repeatedly given top
honors. You can rest assured this car is legit! Thomas Ranker
bought the car in 1980 and owned it until 2024, 44 years! While he
owned the car he won numerous awards including 3 Top Flights,
Bloomington Silver Certified, 1st place Corvettes at Carlisle and
more. He took such an interest he went on to become an NCRS judge
himself (not allowed to judge his own car). It was his baby and he
carefully maintained its low miles and originality. He sold it to
Scott C. on 3-29-24, a collector who had been after the car for
years. Scott had it judged again and it won Top Flight for the
fourth time. We know Scott C. and I talked him out of the car for
my Dad's collection. Scott regretted selling it, I'm sure my Dad
will too!
EXTERIOR: Factory born Tuxedo Black! Verified multiple times by
multiple experts. Claimed to be a no hit body, it is straight and
fits right. The headlights open and close properly, the doors can
be shut with your pinky! The paint is polished so slick a fly
couldn't land on it but it is about 40 years old and does have
minor flaws. All of the chrome is bright. The "early" cars had a
roller latch on the fuel door and a short stem bow tie mirror, this
has both including correctly dated glass in the mirror. The
moldings around the windows are straight and fit right. The glass
is all original according to the date codes I deciphered, an
original windshield helps verify low miles. It also has correct T3
headlights and reproduction BFG SilverTown tires. The knock off
wheels are always a highly desirable feature.
INTERIOR: Factory Saddle Tan interior, verified by experts. It is
in outstanding condition floor to ceiling and very functional. The
carpet front to back looks fresh and installed properly. The dash
pads, door panels and headliner are mint. The original 1963 gauges
include the 6500 redline tachometer - correct for a Fuelie. They
all work including the clock, the original radio works too. The
glove box door is 1963 only and in mint shape, inside is too. The
console looks original and very good, home to the correct 4-speed
shifter. The seat upholstery is excellent, the seatbelts are
original. All of the trim, knobs etc are in great shape, everything
fits properly too. The correct jack and lead hammer for the knock
off wheels is in the rear compartment.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Verified multiple times by experts, this is the
original motor. Codes, casting #s, dates and VIN #s match. All the
components are correct and proper. It has ignition shielding,
finned valve covers that matches the finned fuel injection unit,
correct hoses and clamps, even the belt is correct! It is detailed
like the day it rolled off the assembly line. The 327-360hp engine
is quite potent. It features a hot cam, mechanical lifters, domed
pistons, high compression and the Rochester fuel injection.
UNDERSIDE: 1963 was the first year for front and rear independent
suspension. It was rebuilt and restored to factory condition from
the black spiral shocks to the assembly line markings. It has its
correct drum brake system all around, the e-brake assembly is
hooked up. The dual exhaust is correct down to the GM part numbers
on the mufflers and the polished tips going out through the
valence. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange, has the
correct starter and canister type oil filter. The 4-speed
transmission is VIN # matching and date coded to this car. The
driveshaft leads back to its original posi rear end with 3.70
gears. The floors are excellent raw fiberglass like it's supposed
to be, not painted over. The spare tire carrier is in great shape
and complete including the original lock.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we
built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and
hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car
we sell.
CONCLUSION: This is a holy grail of split windows. Whether it goes
to the most prestigious collection, or in someone's garage, you can
rest assured that it is one of the most desirable in existence!
For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the
highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide
is my professional opinion based on my experience with these
vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a
personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always
available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is
to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase
the car and share our team's insights. **Our cars are displayed
within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific
vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view
it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be
retunded, and you'll receive a one-year museum membership.
