Exterior
Let's say you love the GT500, but don't want all the flashy decals and stripes. Well, step right in because this stallion is solid Black and we dare say, understated given the monster under the hood. That's not to say it's not flashy, the hood vents, rear wing, and 19-inch and 20-inch wheels give its stealthy secret away, along with the badging on the back and the upright Cobra on the fenders. The snake's up front too, on that gaping grille flanked by dark faced headlights with the glimmer of plastic covers offering some contrast to the black. The tail lights are also framed in black and the red really doesn't pop until the lights go on. This example has been garage kept in a climate controlled environment and shows no exterior imperfections.

Interior
If all you saw was the black door panel with perforated vinyl insert, you could be looking at any modern Mustang presenting cleanly. But turn your attention to the Recaro leather buckets in front and suddenly life gets interesting with tuck and roll inserts under the embossed Cobra emblem and high head restraints over racing harness gaps. The deep rear 2+2 seats are also configured with tight tuck and roll for a sporty profile the kids will love. The meaty steering wheel features Alcantara at the hand positions and thumb button on the horizontal spokes, leading to a blue lit instrument cluster fantastically analog in its nod to the creations of Chuck Cantwell. Modernity steps in with a center touch screen showing climate and the functions of the Shaker AM/FM/6 CD stereo with Sync, navigation, and Bluetooth. A cue ball sized handle tops the shifter with shifting diagram spelled printed on it, and it wears a leather boot with black stitching, and everything we've mentioned here is in like new condition. Low pile black carpet clings to the floor, protected by WeatherTech mats, and a foam backed gray headliner conforms to the roofline beautifully while the trunk is essentially pristine in its finished gray panels.

Drivetrain
Bright blue tops the cam covers of the 5.8 liter DOHC supercharged V8 rated at a legendary 662 horsepower. It is set into motion via a TR6060 6-speed manual transmission that sends over 600 sets of hooves to the Ford 8.8 inch rear with 3.31 gears and TracLoc. Carrie Booth etched her name in the "hand built" tag in the engine and a JLT carbon fiber intake tube is noted in this clean presentation.

Undercarriage
With less than 3,000 miles, the underside appears as we expected and that's basically factory fresh with minimal surface rust, no signs of fluid, and assembly line wax pencil marks throughout. Brembo brakes bless the four wheel power disc system and the dual exhaust is a completely stock and original system, terminating with twin polished tips on each side of the rear valance. Suspension includes Macpherson struts in front and a 3 link with coil springs and a panhard bar out back.

Drive-Ability
We've represented a few dozen of these road warriors and they never cease to amaze. The power that's on tap is evident with slight blips of the throttle and by second gear, you're well on your way. As expected, the like new condition of this car translates to its performance. It's fresh out of the box and handles, stops, and drives well and all functions operate as they're intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Like a gunslinger from the wild west, this black on black gunner is ready to be wrangled. Keep it low mileage if you want, but for goodness sake, do get it on the road once in a while. It's too good, and too soon to send this thoroughbred out to the meadow.
