For Sale: 1946 Chevrolet Pickup in Georgetown, Texas

Vehicle Description

For those familiar with these trucks, they are essentially identical to the 1942 models and were produced as manufacturers transitioned back to civilian production after World War II.  A major UAW strike from late 1945 to early 1946 halted production for 113 days, severely disrupting the 1946 model year and lowering output.  Obviously, that suggests that there are not that many of these still around. It’s nice to find a truck such as this one that is restored to how it was when it was new. This great example comes with its original engine and drive train. The ever reliable 216 cu.in. inline 6 Cyl. Hooked to the optional 4 speed manual transmission made this a workhorse in its day. Today it has been used in parades and car shows. It has very nice Blue/Black paint as original and exceptionally nice chrome and bright work. Redone Vinyl Bench seat with original dash/gauges. Factory heater and defroster. Still has the crank out front window to let in the fresh air. Dual exhaust and dual blue dot taillights are also a nice addition. New wood bed and bed side rails finish the look.
