This beautiful 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by
its original, numbers-matching 427ci L72 V8 factory rated at 425
horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, paired with the original M21
close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. The car under went a
frame off refinish where the color scheme was changed to a
beautiful tuxedo black over bright blue leather upholstery and
comes equipped with both a removable hardtop and a black
convertible soft top.
The 15 Turbine-style cast aluminum wheels feature knock-off
spinners and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires
measuring 205/75. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the
chassis benefits from the F41 Special Front and Rear
Suspension.
Inside, the cabin is fitted with two bucket seats trimmed in Bright
Blue leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets.
Amenities include a heater, lap belts, a working analog clock, and
an AM/FM radio. The teakwood steering wheel (N32) frames a 160-mph
speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary
gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water
temperature.
The original numbers-matching 427ci L72 big-block is correctly
stamped with its partial VIN, with the IP suffix designating a
425-hp, 427ci engine mated to a manual transmission. The original
four-speed transmission carries the VIN stamp as well, and the rear
axle is the correct FB 4.11 Posi, dated April 13th, 1966.
