Incorporated was a small, independent American manufacturer of
economy cars or subcompact cars, bordering on microcars. At first
called the Crosley Corporation and later Crosley Motors
Incorporated, the Cincinnati, Ohio, firm was active from 1939 to
1952, interrupted by World War II production.
The cockpit is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery over a single
fixed seat with an integrated faired headrest. Equipment includes
aluminum flooring and a shift lever positioned atop the exposed
gearbox housing. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a tachometer
along with gauges for oil temperature, water temperature, amperage,
and oil pressure. The odometer shows 8,490 miles.
This midget racer is believed to have been constructed in the 1940s
utilizing a Crosley frame, and it was acquired by the seller in
2020. The aluminum bodywork is finished in a beautiful Tiffany Blue
with #8 numerals, Crosley Power, and Wheelers Garage decals.
White-finished steel wheels are wrapped in NANCO 480-12 tires. The
car is equipped with four-wheel drum brakes and rolls on a Crosley
steel frame with coil over suspension.
The Crosley 724cc inline-four is mated to a three-speed manual
gearbox. The engine is outfitted with a single Tillotson
carburetor, a Crosley Cobra valve cover, and one exhaust header
feeding a side-exit exhaust system.
