If this is not the best 230SL Roadster anywhere I'd sure have to see the other car. One of our preeminent restoration shop owners recently saw this car and to quote him "to restore this car to this level today expect a bill of around $400,000." Yep, you read that right four hundred thousand dollars. We've had some cars come and go through our classic car operation over the years and I would have to say this is perhaps the finest restoration we have ever seen. NO CORNERS CUT-NONE!

Did we mention this is a desirable four speed transmission car? More rare and desirable in our estimation then the more prevalent automatics.

Documented by two volumes of receipts, the Mercedes Data Card and more this is an investment grade car worthy of being in any fine museum. Finished in its original shade of Light Grey the paint on this Benz is flawless. The interior is done to an incredible level with only the finest materials used. The interior has had a color change from the original light grey (thank goodness, the bamboo is stunning). The chrome is miles deep, the engine compartment has been done with every correct plating finish and presents as jewelry. The underside is done beyond where most folks restore their exteriors. There is nothing to fault here.

We've had an ongoing discussion as to the sidewalls on the tires- there's really nothing else to talk about. We have a mixed vote on the black walls versus the whitewalls- we will let the next caretaker decide.
