The 2008 Corvette Z06 is a track-ready version of Chevrolet's iconic Corvette. The powertrain was centered around Chevrolet's naturally aspired 7.0L/428ci LS7 powerplant that outputs 505bhp/470lb-ft. (It was marketed as a 427, just because....) It is factory equipped with titanium connecting rods, a dry sump oiling system and stainless exhaust. The current owner did some head work on the LS7 in 2024. (These motors have a bit of a reputation for wearing exhaust valve guides due to original titanium exhaust valves.) The factory heads were exchanged for a set of totally reconditioned GM LS7 heads that had new guides and new stainless steel valves. New ARP head-bolts were used when the engine was reassembled and nothing else was modified. This dynamic powerplant is backed by a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual gearbox and the positraction differential is factory equipped with 3.42:1 gearing. The chassis utilizes power rack/pinion steering and the Z06 Performance Package adds transverse composite springs, traction control, engine/transmission/differential oil coolers, stiffer springs and stabilizer bars. Shock absorbers are upgraded and ABS brakes feature 6f/4r piston calipers and 14.0"f/13.4"r cross-drilled, ventilated rotors.
