Looking for a modern-day muscle car that has plenty of power and
proudly carries one of the most respected names in automotive
performance, but isn't configured to such an extreme that you'll
have to worry about it becoming temperamental during everyday
driving? Then you'll want to give this 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT
a close look. It has only 7,298 miles - just enough to be broken in
and ready to roll. And its clean appearance is a good indicator
that it has been well cared for over the years since it made its
journey from Ford's Michigan plant to Shelby's Las Vegas facility
to get the special treatment that afforded it with upgraded
performance and a tastefully aggressive appearance.
It only takes a quick look at this '07 to confirm you aren't
looking at any ordinary Mustang, but Shelby exercised a bit of
restraint while transforming this Mustang into its enhanced state.
Sure, there are plenty of indications of its special pedigree. The
pair of broad silver-gray stripes that contrast nicely with the
Performance White background as they run down the length of its
hood, over its roof and down its rear is thoroughly associated with
the Shelby name and the side stripes and special badging on the
deck lid leave no doubt about it. But this is a tastefully
restrained muscle car. You'll notice that the lowered stance
strikes a nice balance - it sits about an inch and a half below
stock height, which is low enough to improve the center of gravity
but not so low as to be impractical.
A very nice by-product of this Shelby having so few miles is its
impressively fresh dark charcoal interior. You won't see much sign
of wear inside the cabin - everything from the dash area to the
leather buckets is still looking great and the telltale Shelby
badge that's situated between the air conditioning registers is
unmarked. The comfort and convenience features include power seats,
power mirrors, power windows and door locks, air conditioning,
cruise control and more. The premium Shaker 500 stereo system is on
board to provide your tunes while you're on the road. There are
driver and passenger airbags, as well as an additional pair on the
sides for enhanced safety in the event of the unforeseen, and the
included anti-theft system will give you peace of mind when you
aren't behind the wheel.
By virtue of its trek to Las Vegas, this Shelby's fuel-injected
4.6-liter V8 is more potent than its stock counterpart - it
received both a Ford Racing boxed cold air intake and a more
aggressive tuning than it left the factory with - but it still runs
great on premium pump gas. Sitting just behind the engine is a
5-speed Tremec TR-3650 that provides nice, precise gear changes via
an upgraded Hurst short throw shifter. As you run through the
gears, you won't be able to help but notice the distinct exhaust
note that comes via the rumbling mufflers. Raise the hood and
you'll see the strut tower brace that runs across the engine
compartment to improve body rigidity. It's paired with sway bars in
both front and back to provide outstanding handling. This special
edition Mustang rolls on a set of premium 18" wheels that are
outfitted with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A all-season tires.
