While it may be almost impossible to get your hands on one of the
original 2,000 or so GT500s made, thankfully, we have this stunning
1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Tribute available for you today.
Fully repainted in the iconic Blue with white racing stripes motif,
this Tribute sports a scooped and pinned hood, centrally-mounted
grille lights, upper and lower quarter panel scoops, ducktail-style
rear spoiler, GT500 rocker panel stripes, and correctly placed
badging that, in totality, would make even Carroll Shelby nod and
smile with approval at this fantastic Ford.
Inside, we find a clean black vinyl interior. A big center console
separates a pair of bucket seats, while an electronically
power-assisted wood-rimmed steering wheel boasts a Cobra emblem
center cap. A five-pod gauge cluster features a 6,000 rpm
tachometer and a curiously conservative 120 mph speedometer. In
contrast, a pair of auxiliary gauges keeps tabs on oil pressure and
voltage from the center stack. A Sony AM/FM/AUX head unit offers
Bluetooth connectivity and powers a pair of large rear-mounted
enclosed speakers, hidden behind the rear seatback.
Under that aggressive hood, we find an even more aggressive motor.
Beneath the correctly placed Cobra air cleaner, sits a 427
cubic-inch overhead valve V-8 engine. Equipped with high-flowing
Cobra Jet heads and an FiTech Go EFI 8 fuel management system, that
big block sends spent gases out through dual exhaust capped off
with a set of FlowMaster mufflers. Power is routed through a
tried-and-true Toploader four-speed manual transmission before
heading out to the nine-inch rear end.

This 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Tribute rides on a suspension
consisting of an independent front and leaf spring rear, upgraded
with a set of QA1 adjustable coilovers out back. This car also
benefits from subframe connectors and a rear sway bar. A rack and
pinion steering unit operates fifteen-inch Shebly wheels shod in
P205/60R-15 BFGoodrich rubber up front, while wider P235/60R-15
BFGs are used in the rear. Power disc brakes hide behind those
wheels at all four corners, ready to scrub off speed at a moment's
notice. If you've always loved the 1967 GT500, but couldn't find or
