Volt car features the original matching numbers 237CI/109HP
Flathead 6 Cylinder engine coupled with Fluid Drive with Tip Toe
shift 4 speed semi-automatic. All the critical wiring has been
replaced. Estimated mileage is approximately 50k. Rust free and
solid car throughout thought to have had one repaint and
reupholstered tan cloth interior in excellent condition including
headliner. Paint looks very shiny and has a few imperfections as
shown. All the panels on the car line up nicely and all the Chrome,
trim and badging is intact and in very good to excellent condition
with some showing minor pitting and age related wear. Lots of work
on the car that includes Professionally rebuilt carburetor, Major
tune-up including plugs, points, condenser, rotor, wires coil,
timing, Re-soldered radiator with expansion tank. New hoses. Spare
Aluminum Radiator. New front motor mount, New master cylinder,
brake lines and brakes cleaned and adjusted. New rear brakes
including wheel cylinders, axle seals and bearingsNew fuel line
from tank to engine with filters, All fluids- transmission rear and
Fluid drive oil and filter changed recently. Steel belted radial
tires for ride and safety. Original wheels, hub caps and beauty
rings. Power Wire Brushed, phosphated and painted front floors.
Applied Kills Mat sound deadening. New Interstate battery,
Headlights upgraded to halogen, New heater control valve, Trunk mat
replaced, Trunk seal replaced, New muffler with chrome tip exhaust,
New Transmission Kick-down Relay, New Throw-out bearing/ clutch
release assembly, New clutch and pressure plate, New transmission
seals, Replace valve push rod chamber covers and gaskets, Front and
rear HD Shocks, New thermostat, New Emergency Brake, New hydraulic
fluid in torque converter. Year of Manufacture License plate
available for MA buyers if desired. New Green Yi Back-up camera.
Runs on 12 Volt auxiliary battery in trunk as shown and connects to
cell phone with app. Other work performed includes New Windshield,
New Fulton Sun Visor, New Carpets, Rebuilt Fuel Pump, New Head
Gasket. Starts, Runs and drives, shifts and stops as it did when
new in 1947. Relatively rare survivor of only 13,308 manufactured.
Radio, heat, defrost, dash lights, interior lights, lighter all
work. A few minor things requiring attention include Speedometer
works but reads exactly 15 mph too low. Clock not currently wired
and likely needs to be cleaned to work. Car has always been
meticulously maintained and garaged. Has MA required e-brake and
functioning 2 speed windshield wipers and has passed 2025 MA
inspection. Stored in MA with clean title in the owner's name.
Comes with car cover, owner's and shop manuals, copy of Original
DeSoto Factory Build Card from Chrysler Historical Society,
Salesman's Manual and order forms all loaded on a thumb drive that
