Here is one well-set-up 1968 Chevrolet Nova SS 454 Tribute. This
classic machine has it all-from the beautiful glossy Grotto Blue
paint and chrome accents to the tough-as-nails drivetrain and
redone interior. All this car needs is a proud owner to show it off
at car shows and cruises. The stance is perfect, the cowl-induction
hood is just the right size, and all the badges are in all the
right places. Add in those American Racing Wheels and chrome steel
bumpers, and you have a "Blast From The Past" muscle car that
everyone will love.
The black-on-black interior looks fantastic for this style of car.
The front bucket seats and rear bench seat are well maintained, as
are the door panels, carpet, and headliner. An aftermarket center
console with the Hurst shifter definitely livens up the cabin,
while the four-gauge cluster in front of the shifter keeps things
looking sporty yet original. The dashboard is in great shape, with
the speedometer and tachometer easy to read. An aftermarket but
stock-looking radio is paired with rear 6x9 Memphis speakers so you
can enjoy some good music while cruising. Out back, the trunk is
solid and even has a spare tire for emergencies.
Under the hood, you'll find a 454 V8 squeezed between the fenders.
It's electronically fuel-injected with a Holley Sniper System.
Performance upgrades include TrickFlow Oval 280 aluminum heads
flanking an Edelbrock Air Gap intake. For a little dress-up, there
are beautiful black Chevrolet valve covers and a Chevy chrome air
cleaner cover. Connected to that powerhouse is a hard-kicking
Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that runs back to a 12-bolt rear
axle with a TrickFlow cover and 3.08 gears.
The front suspension relies on an independent setup featuring QA1
tubular upper and lower control arms with coilovers, while the rear
depends on a solid axle with leaf springs and shocks. Fifteen-inch
American Racing Wheels sit at all four corners, with Cooper Cobra
235/60R15 tires up front and 255/60R15 Cooper Cobras in the rear.
For stopping power, the front features power disc brakes with
Wilwood calipers, while the rear retains power drum brakes. And for
that muscle car sound every Nova deserves, it's equipped with
shorty headers, a 3-inch dual exhaust with an X-pipe, and a set of
40 Series Flowmaster mufflers.
