It's nice to see a stock appearing older Mopar like this 1964
Plymouth Sport Fury still looking good. The Bright White paint
holds up well when paired with the bright chrome bumpers, shiny
trim, and hard-to-find OEM hubcaps. Both the front grille and rear
taillight housing are in good shape, and the rear wheel skirt
covers are little add-on pieces that make a big difference for a
higher-class look. The body is solid from the fenders to the
quarter panels-up to the roof, hood, and deck lid. Underneath is
just as solid, making this a well-put-together classic muscle
car.
The interior is in just as good shape as the exterior, with red
front vinyl bucket seats featuring white inserts, and rear bench
seating for two or three people if needed. The stock-appearing
center console is mostly red with a beautiful, shiny metal floor
shifter assembly. The steering wheel appears to be stock and in
great shape, as does the gauge cluster, and the gauges in it, which
show very well. Off to the right are the climate controls, and
further over sits the radio. All in all, the dashboard looks
excellent, and so do the door panels, which follow the same
good-looking pattern as the seats. Door jambs, door sills, carpet,
and headliner are all clean and free of damage.
Under the hood is what's believed to be the original 383 cubic-inch
V8 engine with a Weber carburetor. This engine pairs with a 345
Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to an 8
factory Sure-Grip rear axle with 3.23 gears. The front suspension
features A-arms with shocks, while the rear uses leaf springs with
shocks. Keeping the classic moving smoothly are 14-inch wheels with
OEM Mopar hubcaps and 205/75R14 tires front and rear. Drum brakes
are located at all four corners, while a stock dual exhaust system
with an aftermarket muffler keeps this Mopar sounding right.
