The 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible is an American classic with an
extraordinary twist. Finished in its original Ivy Green Metallic
with a fresh, professional repaint, this car carries a rare piece
of Mustang history: a custom lift-off hard top with the fastback
roofline, designed and built in Germany. This specialty top
transforms the car from an open-air cruiser into a sleek fastback,
making it one of the most unique Mustangs you'll ever find. Even
better, the car offers three different top configurations-top down,
a brand-new black cloth convertible soft top, or the rare German
fastback hard top-allowing you to tailor the look and feel to suit
any mood or occasion.
The correct black interior has been beautifully restored and pairs
cleanly with the striking red convertible boot cover, adding just
the right amount of contrast. Under the hood, the Mustang is
equally impressive, with a thoughtfully upgraded drivetrain that
blends originality with performance. The rebuilt engine is paired
with an Edelbrock intake, carburetor, and air cleaner, chrome valve
covers, MSD ignition, and an Optima battery for modern reliability.
Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator with an electric fan,
ensuring smooth performance in any driving condition.
The driving experience has been enhanced with a 4-speed manual
transmission, 2.80 rear gears, and suspension upgrades including an
upgraded front sway bar. Braking is handled by power brakes with
front discs, delivering confident stopping power. A set of 17-inch
US Mag wheels completes the look, giving the Mustang a more
aggressive stance while maintaining a classic vibe.
This car was fully restored by Slate Performance in Indianapolis,
with the build including complete engine and transmission rebuilds,
along with tasteful upgrades that improve drivability without
losing the Mustang's vintage character. With its rare German
fastback hard top, factory-correct presentation, and three top
options, this '66 Mustang Convertible is a one-of-a-kind
collector's piece that offers both show-quality presentation and
genuine driving enjoyment.
