Built on the chassis of the Giulietta Spider with a coach-built steel and aluminum body designed by Carrozzeria Bertone based on the Bertone Aerodynamica Technia (BAT) design studies, the Giulietta Sprint Speciale was a limited-production homologation special. With an extremely low weight and an incredibly low drag coefficient of 0.28 (the same as a C6 Corvette), the car’s all alloy 1.3L Inline-4 was capable of propelling the car to around 125mph – much higher than its siblings managed.
It is estimated that no more than 1,366 Giulietta Sprint Speciales were produced between 1959 and 1963. With its limited production and BAT-concept-inspired design, Giulietta Sprint Speciales (and the similar Giulia Sprint Speciale) are highly regarded by enthusiasts and critics alike.
