This is one "super clean" vehicle inside and out. It's hard enough
to find a Willys as it is, but finding one in this good of shape is
almost impossible. This 1961 Willys Jeep Wagon 4x4 has been
completely restored and is dressed to impress. The Blue and White
two-tone exterior instantly catches the eye with its black wheels,
painted bumpers, and chrome trim. Its stance is imposing, the front
grille even more so, and overall, it's simply a very cool vehicle
to look at and enjoy.
The interior continues the theme, with white and blue vinyl seats.
The door panels as well carry the same look and are in equally good
condition. The headliner is in great shape, and instead of carpet,
the front features metal floors, while behind the front seats
begins a set of wooden running boards over the steel floor. The
dashboard is painted blue to match the exterior and looks
outstanding. The steering wheel and speedometer have a stock
appearance, as does the rest of the dash, except for one neatly
mounted water temperature gauge beneath the dash. Door jambs,
weatherstripping, and glass all look good with no major damage and
the floor shifters are in good shape, easy to reach, and ready for
fun.
Under the hood, you'll find a very obedient 226 cubic-inch inline-6
cylinder engine, nicknamed the "Super Hurricane". It's paired with
a 3-speed manual transmission that delivers power to the front and
rear Dana 30 solid axles. Both axles use leaf springs with shocks
for suspension duties, while at all four corners sit 15-inch
painted black rims wrapped in 235/75R15 Yokohama tires. Drum brakes
handle stopping power, and a stock exhaust system keeps this Willys
sounding just right.
