This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe underwent
refurbishment work in 2015 that included a repaint in red along
with retrimming the seats in black vinyl and installing a
three-speed automatic transmission. Powered by a numbers matching
327ci L75 V8, the car is additionally equipped with concealed
headlights, turbine-style center-lock wheels, and aftermarket air
conditioning. This C2 split-window coupe was acquired out of
Arizona by the previous owner in 2021 and is now offered with
owner's and shop manuals and a clean Kansas title.
The fiberglass body was finished at the factory in Daytona Blue
(916) and was repainted red under previous ownership. Features
include flip-up headlamps, fender vents, ribbed aluminum
rocker-panel moldings, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and
dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. The 15?
turbine-style wheels are fitted with three-eared knock-off spinners
and mounted with 215/75 Deluxe Classic LX whitewall tires.
The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent
suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a
three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. The
steering is unassisted, as are the four-wheel drum brakes. The cabin
features bucket seats that have been reupholstered in black vinyl
along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities
include aftermarket air conditioning, an analog clock, lap belts,
and a vertically mounted Delco AM radio, the latter of which is
inoperative. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts an inoperative
160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline in
addition to gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature,
and fuel level.
The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 100 of which
were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown. The
327ci L75 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single
four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 300 horsepower.
Engine stamp 105749 matches the last six digits of the chassis
number plate mounted under the glovebox. The SD suffix corresponds
with a 300-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with an automatic
transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a
replacement three-speed automatic transmission said to have been
installed in 2015.
